Long stay on the feet or sitting in the same position, perhaps, is the main risk factor. Also important are nutrition, emotions, a sedentary lifestyle, improper performance of sports exercises, digestive disorders, etc.

Also, problems with the lower back can be associated with violations in the work of the kidneys, because it is here that these organs of the urinary system are located. Therefore, if you want to avoid pain in the lumbar region, you need to carefully take care of kidney health.

Means that will help relieve back pain

1. Hot shower

Our waist is always gratefully reacting to heat and suffers from cold, humidity and lack of physical activity.

The remedy, which we will now tell you, refers to hydrotherapy – a therapeutic method based on the healing properties of water of different temperatures. In this case, it will be hot water.

What should I do?

  • Direct a warm shower on the waist and continue to drive the shower from side to side, gradually raising the temperature of the water until it becomes hot.
  • The procedure should last about 3-4 minutes. It will be better if you sit.
  • It is best to seek help from another person for this procedure. In this case, you can sit comfortably (for example, on a plastic stool) and relax.
  • Contraindications to such treatment are sciatica and intervertebral hernia.

2. Compresses of different temperatures

In this case, we again need water, this time – different temperatures. The alternate use of cold and hot water stimulates blood circulation in the problem area and helps to soothe back pain and inflammation.

This time, it would also be desirable to seek help from another person. To perform the procedure, you will need a container with hot and cool (not too cold) water and two medium-sized towels.

What should I do?

  • Ask the partner to moisten the towel in hot water, squeeze it well and attach it to your lumbar region. You need to lie on your stomach.
  • Leave the compress for 30 – 60 seconds.
  • Repeat the same algorithm with cold water.
  • For treatment, it is necessary to use at least 5 compresses as well as with cold and hot water. At the same time, you must complete the procedure with a hot compress.
  • At the end of the procedure, you need to dry your lower back and cover it with a warm rug or shawl.

3. Massage with sesame oil and Arnica

A good massage effectively soothes back pain. In the case of the lower back, we can do this to ourselves, although whenever possible, it is always advisable to resort to the help of another person.

For saddle massage, you can use sesame oil. It will help you warm up the painful area. Add some Arnica (in the form of butter, cream or gel). This will calm the inflammatory processes.

What should I do?

  • First, warm up the problem area with gentle, gentle movements and prepare it for the next massage. Do not press hard on your back.
  • Gradually increasing the pressure, rub with vertical movements of the side parts of the back to the left and right of the spine.
  • Pay particular attention to the waist, grabbing as many soft tissues as possible. This will divide the tissues, give them mobility and relax the zone.

4. Compress from cabbage

You can also make such a compress at home. All you need for this is a few leaves of fresh cabbage.

Cabbage has anti-inflammatory properties, so compresses from cabbage leaves help to soothe the pain in any area of ​​the body (menstrual pain, knee pain, etc.).

What should I do?

  • Take 4-6 leaves of cabbage. It is best to choose the greenest of them.
  • Pour the water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil, then put the leaves into the water for a few seconds. Do not keep cabbage leaves in boiling water for more than 10 seconds.
  • After that, put the leaves on a wooden board and lightly beat them so that the juice comes out of them.
  • Apply hot cabbage leaves to the waist and cover it with a cloth. Top with a dry towel.
  • Leave your back on the back for 15 minutes.
  • You can repeat this procedure 2-3 times a day.
