Symptoms Of Kidney Failure

Kidneys play a very important role in the functioning of our body. They are located in the lower part of the thoracic region of the back and process from 120 to 150 liters of blood per day.

When the kidneys  work well, they cleanse the blood of waste and excess fluid. This helps to avoid many diseases.

The kidneys maintain a balance of electrolytes in the body, promote the production of red blood cells and help control blood pressure.

Therefore, a violation of their normal work leads to serious health problems, to a deterioration in the quality of life.

The most common is their pathology, such as renal failure,  and in many cases its symptoms in the first stages remain unnoticed.

Because they are often confused with other health problems, many do not pay due attention to them.

But a timely diagnosis is very important for successful treatment. We will tell you about the eight main “alarm signals” that will help diagnose in time.

1. Swelling and inflammation

Because of diseased kidneys fluid retention in the tissues and inflammation occurs .

This symptom happens with different diseases, but in most cases it is associated with kidney failure.

Edema appears in the area:

  • The Foot
  • Leg
  • Ankles
  • The person
  • Hand
  • Belly

2. Rash

Because of renal insufficiency, toxins accumulate in the blood, and they reach the pores of the skin.

As a result, skin imperfections such as acne, rash occur. In this case, there is often a strong itch.

These manifestations can be reduced with the help of a cream or lotion, but detoxification of the kidneys works best.

3. Changes in urination

Changes in urination are easy to notice,  and these are the most obvious symptoms of impaired normal kidney function.

Let’s list these symptoms:

  • Sensation of pressure in the bladder and difficulty with urination.
  • There is blood in the urine.
  • The urine becomes darker and acquires a sharper smell.
  • The amount of urine increases or decreases.
  • The urine becomes more foamy.
  • At night, there is often an urge to urinate.
  • There is an incontience of urine.
  • Burning with urination.

4. Feeling tired

The kidneys produce the hormone erythropoietin, which controls the formation of red blood cells (erythrocytes), which carry oxygen through the body.

With renal insufficiency, this hormone is produced less, and body tissues receive less oxygen. As a result, the feeling of fatigue increases.

Fatigue becomes chronic, a person experiences muscle pain and problems with concentration.

5. Chills

With renal failure, as mentioned above, the number of red blood cells in the blood decreases and the risk of anemia increases.

In patients, there is a decline in strength and a strong sense of cold.

They cannot keep warm even in the sun, they are often feverish.

6. Back pain

Stitching in the lower back (on one side or both) can be a sign of kidney disease.

Such pain is associated with polycystic kidney and kidney stones (or with liver disease), and it often intensifies after a person has spent a lot of time on their feet.

It is important not to confuse this pain with ordinary muscle pain, then the diagnosis can be put on time.

7. Metallic taste in the mouth

Because of renal insufficiency, the content of toxins in the blood increases, and this leads to disruption of the normal functioning of different body systems.

For example, the taste of food may seem so unpleasant to the patient, and after eating, there is an unpleasant odor from the mouth.

In the mouth, there is a metallic taste that resembles the smell of ammonia, and a loss of taste for many foods leads to a deficiency in the body of nutrients.

8. Nausea and vomiting

Constant nausea and causeless desires for vomiting can also indicate problems with the kidneys.

Since the waste of life is not removed from the body properly and there is a loss of appetite, these symptoms intensify.

Symptoms of renal failure vary from person to person and depend on the degree of renal failure.

If you see at least two of the symptoms described here, this is more than enough to call a doctor.
