Home remedies for neck pain

As we have already mentioned above, neck pain can take on mild or severe forms. In the latter case, we cannot turn our heads, because at the same time we feel great pain. Here are some useful tips to help you cope with neck pain:

Massage

This is the most popular home remedy. You can go to the masseur or ask a member of the family to massage your neck very gently.

To enhance the effect, you can use any oil, for example, olive or almond oil. Pre-heat it a little on a water bath or in a microwave. Be careful not to burn your skin by accident. Heat and active movements relax perfectly the muscles of the neck and the whole body.

Apply a few drops of the selected oil (if you want to use essential oil, lavender, or rosemary will work perfectly) on the painful area in a circular motion, lightly pressing on the skin.

This will help you relax the muscles and activate blood circulation, reduce tension in the neck and relieve pain.

Heat

Apply heat to the neck – this is a great way to ease pain. For example, during a shower, direct a jet of hot water on your neck or soak a towel in hot water and apply a compress to your neck. You can also use a heating pad.

If you do not have a heater, you can heat the blanket in the oven (be careful, make sure that it does not catch fire) and attach it to your neck. You can fill the pillowcase with heated grains of buckwheat or rice, and then also attach it to the neck.

Cold

To treat the tension in the neck, the cold is no less effective than heat. Cold is always used to reduce inflammation and relieve pain in injuries.

If you are good at tolerating the cold, take a cold shower and let the jets of cold water cool your neck. You can wrap a few ice cubes in a towel or cloth (never put ice to your skin just like that) and attach them to a painful area.

Epsom salt

Baths with English salt – this is an excellent remedy against pain in the neck. This salt is rich in magnesium, which stimulates blood circulation, and also relieves muscle tension. Fill the tub with hot water and add to it a handful of English salt. Go to the bath so that the water covers the neck. This method also relaxes perfectly.

Apple vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is very healthy. It helps reduce swelling with muscle pain. Just moisten a piece of cloth in the vinegar and attach it to the neck in the form of a compress.  Try also rub your neck with vinegar.

Radish

Cut the raw radish into circles and attach it to the painful area. Leave for a few minutes and rinse the skin with warm water. This is a very affordable refreshing and soothing means.

Physical exercises

If you can not move your neck from pain or fear, you need to return the muscles to elasticity. Start with soft slow exercises, listening to your sensations.
